Deep Peace (CD) Olympia's Daughters | Women's Spirituality CDs

Deep Peace CD is the debut recording of Olympia's Daughters, the women's chorus from New Jersey. The CD includes a wide range of material:

Sweet Honey's Ysaye Barnwell contributes "We Are" and "Prayer."

There's a touch of early feminist lyrics with Hildegarde von Bingen's "O Euchari" and Madrigal "Now Is The Month of Maying."

The director penned the title tune and opener "Alleluia," two of several original pieces.
 

The Artists:

Olympia's Daughters is an a cappella choir that builds bridges between communities and cultures.

Through song, these women challenge attitudes, foster healing, share hearts, spirits and joyful love of music.

They perform at events like cultural festivals, domestic violence vigils and church services.

They take their name from Olympia Brown, the first female who was ordained by a national denomination - the Universalists.

She was also a leading suffragist, a mother, and a business woman.
